The number of home schooled children has increased dramatically over the past decade. According to the National Home Education Research Institute, there are currently more than 2 million home schooled students in the United States, and the numbers are growing at a rate of 5–12% each year (NHERI.org). Why do you think that the home school movement is growing so rapidly? Should parents who choose to home school (or send their children to private school) have to pay taxes toward public education?
