Presently there are about 16,050 active TB patients in Liberia, mainly in the rural areas where the majority of people are poor and live in squalid conditions, but their migration to bigger towns such as Monrovia leads to the spread of the infection in Liberia. The rural-to-urban migration rate is currently 115 of every 1000 people in the Liberian population (Saydee, 2015). The high rate of migration is a result of the rural population seeking medical treatment for TB in Monrovia, where the government created a hub to encourage TB patients to come for treatment. After eight weeks of treatment, the cured individual can return home (Integrated Regional Information Networks [IRIN], 2009). However, the high rate of migration into Monrovia still contributed to high rates of TB infection because many people view the disease as costly. Furthermore, of those who migrated into the city, only a few managed to be screened because most of them were afraid of stigmatization, their illegal status, and their insufficient capital to access the services Purpose of the Study The purpose of this research study is to investigate the correlation between trends in TB infections in Monrovia and rural-urban migration. The research also aims to examine the correlations between level of income, years of residence, population density, and rates of TB
