Passenger and Cell Phone Conversations in Driving

When drivers’ attention is distracted, road accidents increase – having a hands-free mobile conversation while driving is roughly equivalent to having a blood alcohol level at the legal limit (0.05; Langer et al., 2005). Is having a handsfree mobile conversation more or less distracting than chatting to a passenger in the car? Why?
