Assignment 1: Individual Research Assignment
Demonstrate understanding of the application of entrepreneurship to a designated industry sector,
Word Limit: 1000 (excluding appendices). Potentially, there are penalties of significance for any breach of word count.
Purpose:
This assessment task assists students to:
• Develop an understanding of the principles and foundations of entrepreneurship
• Understand the nature and role of entrepreneurial function in a business/organisational context; and
• Understand the application of entrepreneurship to a designated industry sector
Task Overview:
This assessment task requires students to write a research report which explores the issue of entrepreneurship in an industry in which they are interested.
As a minimum this research report should cover:
• A brief description of the industry sector chosen
• Coverage of the significant issues facing entrepreneurs in this sector
• A discussion of the level of entrepreneurial activity in the sector
• Factors which influence the probability of new venture success
