Approaches this country has taken to solve this problem

In 1954, the Supreme Court required the desegregation of public schools which was met with strong resistance throughout most of this country. In fact, some Southern states passed various laws in an attempt to avoid desegregation; however, legally segregated education did gradually disappear. Between 1988 and 1992, desegregation increased due to de facto segregation. The most important factor in de facto school segregation is housing segregation. While open and deliberate policies of segregation in schools have been illegal for over twenty-five years, actual segregation remains widespread and has increased since the late 1980’s.
Resolving majority-minority inequality in education has not been an easy task. Research some of the approaches this country has taken to solve this problem.
