What is civil disobedience??

Civil Disobedience

These discussion boards have been designed to explore controversial topics. Often these debates have the potential to become heated. In the act of creating ideas, heat can be a good thing, but not at the expense of hurt feelings or frustration. Remember that any argument asks that we change something about ourselves. If we are asking our readers to change, we need to be civil about it. Likewise, when we are challenged by others with a different opinion, we need to keep an open mind. Remember, we are not changing the world here, only examining it.

Some important rules to follow:

You may not attack other people or their ideas in this course. To do so may result in failure of the assignment. You may, however, disagree with the ideas of others, but do so in a constructive manner. (e.g. “I don’t agree with your post. I think instead that . . . ” NOT “That’s a dumb way of looking at this.” Debate in academia is important, but let’s all be adults here. Ask open-ended questions (e. g. “What if we thought about things this way?”), and avoid making statements meant to be absolute or closed-ended questions (“There is no other way to think about this,” or “Do you agree with me?”). Remember to consider the lessons we’ve worked on throughout the rest of the class. Rather than simply reacting to the readings and the responses of your classmates, think about the arguments being made. Really consider the effectiveness of these arguments.

this is 2 other student discussion board responds for the discussion question above, need a respond for each one. they don’t have to be long 35 to 75 words for each one.

1.In my opinion I feel unjust laws are made just to keep us down and hold us back from greater opportunities that is destiny for us to reach. Unjust laws take away the rights for a certain group of people. In the world some people are realizing the outcome of this laws. Why should certain people be allowed to cause harm to other and only go to jail, when the same harm was cause by another group of people and end up dead. I think unjust laws should be done away with and just laws should rule. Just laws are more common for the people in the whole entire world and not just a set base group of people. Just laws help improve justice for people as a whole and not divided. Martin Luther King hit the nail on the head when he wrote that letter. He made it known for the people of what was coming an what was going to take place. He felt that we all should be treated equal, and until this very day thing are still secretly racist. We as a whole need to come together and stand for what is right. No more racism and every one should have the same rights.

2.1. The laws that we choose which are just and which are not are by personal preference. If we feel that law does not go with what we enjoy or help us, then we feel it is not just. If we feel that law is discriminating against a group of people, or against what we feel life should be then we feel it is unjust.
