Using Statistics to Carry Out an Investigation

You are strongly advised to select a theme which is related to the academic content of your chosen Diploma. You must ensure that the chosen theme offers sufficient scope for investigation, and allows you to meet both the Learning Outcomes and the Grade Descriptors.

The assignment should consist of a written introduction, which describes the method by which sufficient and accurate data is to be collected. This data should be processed, using a range of graphical and statistical techniques appropriate for the purpose of the investigation, and to the level of study. (LO 1)

Data should be presented in a variety of formats appropriate for the purpose of the investigation, and to the level of study. The results should be interpreted. (LO 2)

Write an analysis, which draws conclusions from the data, linking back to the theoretical context and aims of the investigation. (LO 2)

Write a conclusion, which describes the limitations of the investigation, and suggest improvements which could be made. (LO 3)
