Upper Division Managerial Economics; Select 1 suggested topics (see details)

Each student will complete an economic, either microeconomic or macroeconomic study. The paper should be four to five pages (typed, double‑spaced), not including graphs. I expect you to read at least five articles from newspapers, magazines or journals about your topic, which you should list in a bibliography. However, extensive outside research is not expected. The purpose of the paper is to help you understand and apply the concepts we are discussing in class in wide range, not limited to only the topics we covered in class.

            I expect well-written papers. Up to a full grade will be deducted for incorrect spelling, bad grammar, incomplete sentences, and poor organization.

Suggested topics (choose one):

1. Economic analysis for bank run, bank panic in 1992, 2007 and others.
2. Courses of financial crisis, in Microeconomic view.
3. Price setting in discriminated markets, social benefits or loss.
4. Auction process. Analysis with equilibrium theory.
5. Bargaining process, who gains and who losses?
6. The US trade unbalance for the past thirty years. What is the key point? How to resolve it fundamentally?
7. US Government budget deficit, history and current? What is the consequence on dollar value?
8. Individual incentive and stimulate policy: how to manage company performance with efficiency.
9. Game theories applied in real business. What are your experiences?
