The author’s goal was ultimately to raise awareness. This article focuses on the
LGBTQ community and its impact on student’s that attend “West High School“. The
leaders of the “Beyond Bullying Project” set up a private booth in one of the hallways of
this school for two weeks. Student’s were allowed to go into the booth and talk about
anything they would like. Some students talked about their own LGBTQ experiences.
Others spoke of their family members and parents who were part of this community.
Some spoke of famous people who they idolized that were gay. It gave the students a
chance to speak without being judged by their peers. Over 400 stories were heard.2.
What questions remain unanswered?I would like to know how the student’s were
influenced by this experience after the facilitators left their school. Did the bullying
decrees in the school?3. If I had to design an experiment to test this hypothesis, what
would I do?I could go into the school a month after the facilitators leave and take a
survey of the students and the administration. I could ask them all a series of questions
pertaining to the projects ultimate goal of decreasing bullying and see if the project had
an influence. I could also look at how many students have had any kind of bullying
altercation in school compared to a month before and see if the bullying had decreased.

What is the author’s goal?To know or have data to conclude whether bullying cause or
lead to parasomnias. To have parents, teachers, school counselors, and clinicians may
consider this in bullied kids as well at bring awareness.

caused parasomnias. Just being bullied can cause parasomnias such as nightmares,
night terrors, or sleepwalking.

1. What is the author’s goal?
The author’s goal was to let everyone know when bullying started and how to tackling
the problem. The author explains how the negative action starts from rude gestures,
making faces, verbal abuse and physical content. There are ones that be in groups
while bullying others. There are indications that the level of bullying has risen over the
last 10-15 years. More worrying, it is the more frequent and severe forms of bullying that
have increased most. Fundamental human right is the right of students that is protected
by bullies. They should be safe in school at all times. A bully is a consequence of small
and lager class rooms. It is common assumption that bullies suffer from poor selfesteem
and insecurity. They are trying to see what ways they can stop bullying.

Have teachers been bully as well over the last couple years? If so how do they
overcome it with their students? Why do the ones that get bullied turn around and bully
others?
3. If I had to design an experiment to test this hypothesis, what would I do?
If I had to design an experiment to test this hypothesis I would get a couple of parents
that children have been a victim of been bullied by classmates. They can go around to
different schools and talk to students that has been bullied and the ones that are bully’s.
The parents can talk to them and explain to them how it affected their children and how
it is important it is to tell someone. They can also explain to the victims friends how they
should stand up for their friends and tell as well. I would talk to every student to see how
we can stop bullies in their schools. How do they feel about bullies and have they ever
know anyone that has been a victim as well and what did they do about it.

1. What is the author’s goal? The goal is to addresses the issue of bullying and
harassment in the United States
2. What questions remain unanswered?
Whether or not harassment is more common in individuals with disabilities or others
from different minorities? How does the data reflect the demographics and or location?
3. If I had to design an experiment to test this hypothesis, what would I do?
I would pick 3 schools ages 5-15 years of ages. The schools I would choose would be 2
in more rural areas and 1 in the suburban area. I would then pick 100 students 25 from
each age group from the young children age, pre-teens, and teenage groups. I would
conduct a psychological study and questionnaire that have been bullied. I would also
put a mixed group in a class together with no supervision to observe what would
happen and to see what the students would do towards each other whether they’re
minority, disabled, or neither. Also, what students would go to the proper authorities to
report the bullying behavior and what students will seem scared to speak up. All should
be measured in a specific time frame. The time frame should last about a month during
school hours including outdoor activities.

Independent Varible:
The students in the classroom without supervision which can be manipulated into
change based on the environment.
Dependent Variable: The number of students in the study and the timeframe of the
study which can be measured.
Control Variable:
The Age, disabilities, and races of the individuals which cannot be changed and are
held constant.
