Social Work and New Clients

Order Description

Paper Details:
This video, which portrays a therapist’s initial meetings with three members of the same family, serves as a resource for Week 1… For this week’s Application Assignment, you analyze the approaches the therapist takes with each family member in their initial meetings.
PLEASE COPY AND PASTE THE URL FOR THE VIDEO IN ORDER TO VIEW IT BECAUSE THERE IS NO TRANSCRIPT. THE VIDEO IS THE FILE NAMED clvideo.

As you participated in this week’s Discussion, you may have noticed similarities and differences in your approach to new clients and the approaches your colleagues described. Learning how colleagues approach new clients may help you to reflect on your own process and consider ways to improve or adapt your skills in this area.
For this Application Assignment, you continue your investigation of initial approaches with clients as you view “Family Therapy Vignettes,” a video that portrays a therapist conducting initial interviews with several members of the same family. As you view the video, compare the therapist’s approach in initial meetings and strategies for getting to know his clients to your own.
The Assignment (2–3 pages):
• Summarize the therapist’s approach to his initial meetings with his clients as portrayed in the video. In this summary, identify as much as you can about the strategies the therapist uses to get to know his new clients.
• Compare and contrast the therapist’s approach to your own approach (as described in this week’s Discussion).
• Include in your answer one strategy the therapist used that you might use in your own work, as well as one strategy that you would not use. Be specific in your explanation about why you would or would not use these particular strategies.

Directions for Paper:
Please read and paraphrase what the scholars have done, not quote.

Focus on the topic not the background. Do not use quotations. Use references to support your statements and do not use first person. Instead of saying “I think “or “I believe” or “in my opinion”, write “Some research indicates…” or “A study by Daniels, (2013), shows…”. This is supposed to be scholarly discourse not your unsupported thoughts or experiences.

add at least one additional source. All sources should be from recent peer reviewed journal articles (within the past 5 years).
