The second essay you write for this class needs to be only three pages long. The project for the second essay is the same as the first essay: take any topic covered in class and develop your own, original and creative ideas off of it. Think of the class topics, readings, and even artworks as starting points, as invitations to think. The purpose of this assignment is not to demonstrate that you have memorized anything, and that you are capable of repeating it, no, the purpose of this assignment is that you think about your own ideas and create something thatâ s yours. Even if all thatâ s yours is confusion. TO CREATE, not to repeat, try it, itâ s fun. For the second essay you may choose any topic covered in class over the entire semester, not just since the midterm, as your starting point. Remember the idea of infusing enjoyment into writing, try to do this, even if the outcome appears messy. Look back and read what you write, do you admire it? Does it scare you? Is it real to you? Good, good, good.
