Improving permanency.

The Region 8 Regional Director has come to you and explained that she needs to make a presentation to the Commissioner of the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS)  on exits to permanency for children in DFPS conservatorship. The most favored permanency exit, when safely possible, is reunification. For children who cannot safely exit to reunification, exit to a relative (through the Permanency Care Assistance (PCA) program, through the relative as a Permanent Managing Conservator (PMC) or through relative adoption) or adoption by a non-relative, in that order, are preferred.

The Region 8 Regional Director has asked for a summary with the following information to help her prepare for the presentation:
