identify, use and critique at least two different computer-based technologies (software and/or hardware) to support a creative or innovation process from your own experience.

The coursework specification asks you to identify, use and critique at least two different computer-based technologies (software and/or hardware) to support a creative or innovation process from your own experience.

Approximate mark weightings are:

  • explain, using references to the literature for definitions of creativity and innovation, why you consider the process you have chosen to be a creative or innovation process – 10%
  • describe and explain what technologies you considered using to support this process, and the reasons you chose the ones you did – 5%
  • explain how you used the chosen technologies (to support the creativity in your creative process as above) – 5%
  • again using references to academic literature such as that referenced in course slides and/or on the course reading list, critique each of the technologies, in terms of their usability, your own (user) experience of using them, and the extent to which they support aspects of your creative process; also identify any new opportunities that you see arising from using these technologies, and identify any possible risks – 20%

Pointers for achieving good marks are

  • use a broad range of appropriate academic sources
  • review and select from a wide range of computer-based technologies
  • show you’ve used a good range of tool features in your process
  • show you understand relevant opportunities and risks
