Researching the history of Bleeding Kansas and provide a 3-paragraph summary about how the issue divided
pro-slavery Southerners and Northerners.
Explain how Bleeding Kansas is related to bother slavery and the Civil War. For example, had slaves not rebelled by the simple act of escaping, would the issue of slavery’s extension West (the real cause of the war) have even been an issue? Missouri slave-owners were ready to fight over the extension of slavery to Kansas, but few actually intended to start plantations in Kansas. The reason they were so concerned was because they did not want their slaves to escape to Kansas, so the entire sectional conflict erupted because slaves were escaping.
