Explain the role of the cerebellum in normal skeletal muscle movement.

1. Compare and contrast the lobes of the cerebrum specifically their overall function and location.

Frontal Lobe: Voluntary motor.  It is located in the front of the brain.
Parietal Lobe: Sensory information sensations of pain, temperature, touch, vibrations and pressure involving the skin.
Occipital Lobe: sensory areas for hearing. It is located in the lower central back of the brain. It is located

2. Compare and contrast Wernicke’s area and Broca’s area, specifically the location, function and dysfunction that would occur with damage to that region.

3. Explain the role of the cerebellum in normal skeletal muscle movement.
   The cerebellum receives information from the sensory systems, the spinal cord, and other parts of the brain and then regulates motor movements. The cerebellum coordinates voluntary movements such as posture, balance, coordination, and speech, resulting in smooth and balanced muscular activity.

4. The limbic system is a diffuse network of structures in the brain.  In your own words, what is the overall function of the limbic system?  What role do the following regions of the brain have: thalamus, hypothalamus and hippocampus and amygdala? 

Function of the limbic system include

Involved with emotions, respond to a wide variety of environmental stimuli.
It’s located on medial aspect of each cerebral hemisphere and diencephalon. Encircles upper part of brainstem and includes parts of rhinencephalon Amygdala: fear.
Cingulate gyrus: expressing emotions through gestures.
Thalamus: Final relay point station for most sensory impulses (except olfaction) that reach the primary sensory area
