After reviewing the “Detecting and Avoiding Plagiarism” PowerPoint
presentation and completing the “Avoiding Plagiarism” Tutorial in the Ashford Writing Center (USER NAME: ashford; PASSWORD: student), define plagiarism. Explain what type(s) of
information you must acknowledge and document in your written assignments. What
type(s) of information does not require a source citation? What must you do when
you borrow the exact words of someone else in your paper? What must you do when
you paraphrase (put information from an outside source in your own words)?
