For this assessment item, you will need to conduct interviews with 3 individuals in the older phase of life. You will then prepare a report (of approximately 2000) based on these interviews. I have included interviews in a separate attachments
Note: In your report, you must include the following statement: “I, …insert name………… , complied with the assessment instructions for interviewing participants”. This can be included as a separate page after the title page or on the bottom of the title page.
Presentation
This following is a guide for the presentation of your report:

INTRODUCTION
• Overview of Interview report. In the introduction, you need to indicate which domains you will discuss in the body of the report.

Participants
• Introduce each interviewee individually using a pseudonym for each- indicate crucial demographic information such as age, living circumstances, marital status, number of children/grandchildren etc (Do not include any identifying information).

Procedure
• Describe the interview- where it took place, how it proceeded (e.g. did you have to keep interviewees on track, were interviewees happy to talk etc).

BODY
• In the body of the report, you will need to discuss at least 4 of the domains that were covered in the interview. It is important that you discuss some of the key domains of cognition and memory, successful ageing, physical function etc.
Domains covered
o Physical/Sensory domain.
o Cognitive domain.
o Life review domain
o Personality domain
o Social Domain

In your discussion of each domain you must do the following:
• Identify what EACH interviewee has indicated as important to them in the particular domain
• Use direct (but non-identifying) quotes from participants which highlight the key features of their feelings about the domain. Indicate to which participant the quote is attributed by using their assigned pseudonym.

• Discuss the domain (and particular issues raised by interviewees, if appropriate) in light of existing research. Cited material can include both empirical research (experiments) as well as theories of ageing. It is essential that you link your discussion of the cited material with the interview observations.
Note: Although you may find that your interviewees provide extensive information about their lives, you must not present all of this information in the report. Rather, you need to highlight only the key points for each domain for each interviewee. A crucial aspect of this assessment item is to critically
discuss the literature and to integrate your discussion of the literature with the interview content.

CONCLUSION
Summarise the key aspects of the report drawing strong conclusions about the implications of the results

Requirements
Your report must follow APA (6th ed.) format for in text referencing ( including page numbers ) and reference list.

EXAMPLE NOTES FROM LECTURER (FORMAT )
The Lecturer would like you to use quotes from your participants to be integrated with the relevant literature to provide evidence for aspects of the domains (at least four of these) you choose.
Below is an excerpt that shows how you can integrate participant quotes with the literature in your report.
“In contrast to other participants, 91-year-old Brian did not refer to his past at all within the context of his experience of wellbeing. At the end of our interview, after he enquired about influences on the wellbeing of other participants’, I mentioned some had spoken about their past. Brian replied:
B: I didn’t think on that.
I: You didn’t think to talk about your past?
B: Well it’s not very useful, is it [laughs]. (…) I don’t worry too much about the past, it’s history.
Earlier in our interview, in response to a question about whether he would like to live beyond 92, he replied:
It wouldn’t worry me greatly if I didn’t [laughs].
Although there is some evidence that older people positively oriented towards their past appear to be more satisfied with life (Desmyter & De Raedt, 2012), McAdams (1993) suggests that some older people may move beyond the story of their lives to a place of acceptance and completion. With his future uncertain and the past no longer important, Brian seems to have moved beyond an identity rooted in the past and future and is living from day to day, or possibly from moment to moment” (Hocking, 2015, p. 29).
