IPv4 addresses listed in CIDR
Assignment:
Watch the three videos on Subnetting, found in the links for Chapter 9 in the Modules section of Canvas. Then, review the following IPv4 addresses listed in CIDR notation. Using Internet resources, your textbook, a subnet calculator, manually or otherwise (you must do your own work):
• Determine the network to which each IP address belongs;
• Specify the decimal subnet mask, and
• Provide the valid range of host ids for this network.
Here’s the answer to the first problem:
10.25.5.46/14
The network to which this address belongs (network id) is 10.24.0.0.
The decimal subnet mask that corresponds to CIDR notation /14 is 255.252.0.0
The valid range of host ids for this network is 10.24.0.1-10.27.255.254.
Now do the rest and email your instructor if you have any questions…
1. 10.25.5.46/14
2. 131.107.190.5/20
3. 200.200.200.97/27
4. 120.46.6.79/11
5. 128.125.66.2/18
