b. Choose from Section IV: Working conditions and the work environment for nurses (Articles 19 through 31)

Select any themed subject which is applicable to your work setting, area of interest, expertise, or specialty area. Articulate methods, tools, performance measures, culture of safety principles, and standards related to quality in this particular topic chosen. Demonstrate knowledge of continuous quality improvement as it relates to your chosen topic.

1. Include concepts of teamwork, interdisciplinary communication, human factors, basic safety, unsafe practices, and ethical principles.
2. Include Accountability for nurses, evidenced-based plans based on trend analysis, and quantify the impact on quality and safety.
3. Analyze information about quality initiatives recognizing individual s and inter-professional healthcare teams to improve health outcomes.
4. Discuss transparency, reporting of errors, cultural responsiveness, and safe, timely, effective efficient, equitable, and patient-centered care.
5. RN fit for duty/impact of fatigue and distractions in care environment on patient safety.
6. Explain effective communication and collaboration strategies which lead to healthy, safe interdisciplinary teams
7. Guided by Dr. Jean Watson’s (2012) theory of human caring science critically evaluate how caring can be integrated in all levels of Nursing practices

d. 5 to 8 pages in length not including the title and reference pages.
e. Cite 5 or more references using scholarly peer reviewed journals (see recommended journal’s list)
