Today the US Supreme Court in a 5-4 decision announced that the Arizona Congressional lines drawn by the Independent Redistricting Commission would stand. In doing so they defined the “Legislature” as meaning legislative authority granted to the people, not solely the elected body. Do you agree with this statement? Explain the Initiative and Referendum process in Arizona. List at least one law that was passed through the initiative process. Were there any unintended consequences from the law? What where they?
