Task Description:
In this task you will use current research literature to critically examine major issues surrounding the teaching and learning of common fractions (do not include the T and L of common fraction algorithms) (1500 words approx). Use this information to discuss the implications for teaching and learning in our diverse classrooms including reference to ICT applications where possible (500 words approx). You will then choose a specific aspect of common fractions e.g., equivalence, and outline key teaching and learning steps for acquisition of that fractional concept with further reference to research literature and the ACARA documents where necessary (500 words).
