The Lesson of Munich states that appeasement only makes the aggressor stronger. To put it another way, if a bully asks you one day for a dollar on the playground, and you give it to him, the next day he will ask for two dollars. If you refuse to give him the dollar on the first day, will you get beaten up and have your wallet taken, or will you defeat the bully? Modernists are beginning to develop the idea that Chamberlain and the other Europeans powers were choice-less at Munich, but what do you believe would have occurred had the European powers stood up to the Third Reich? What would have happened to France and Great Britain? Would the United States have become involved?

Answer these questions in a 2 page paper. Cite any sources used within the paper according to APA format and list them on a separate references page at the end of the paper (Note: The reference page does not count toward the minimum page requirement).
