Write an essay that explains and evaluates four different perspectives or theories (discussed Portes and Rumbaut) that account for why international migration (its origins) from developing nations to developed societies like the United States happens. Discuss how each perspective explains migration – either with individual motivations or other factors. Discuss the strength and weakness of each perspective (what it does explain, what it fails to explain. Where does cumulative causation fit in?
