What is the thesis statement?

Part 1:

Write your thesis statement. Next, write a body paragraph explaining one of your thesis statement’s supporting points from the outline you wrote in Unit 2. Support the ideas in the paragraph by incorporating expert viewpoints and evidence from at least two (2) sources. Sources should be incorporated through appropriate paraphrasing (rewording), direct quotations and APA in-text citations. Follow the guidelines in the AIU APA Guide for formatting paraphrases and direct quotations . Provide reference citations for the two (2) sources used in the paragraph.

Part 2:

Select two different peers’ postings, read their paragraphs, reply to their individual postings, and post a paragraph which provides a critique addressing the following questions:

What is the thesis statement? Is it an argument?
What is the supporting point for the thesis? Is it clearly stated in the paragraph?
Is the reasoning and evidence provided to support the point convincing? What details could strengthen the support?
Are sources used correctly? Note any formatting or citation errors
Based on your critique, rate the paragraph as effective, very effective, satisfactory, or not effective
