This is the book reference and the other file i would upload later.
Traditionally, The Well of Loneliness has been described as one of the first, or at least one of the most important, lesbian novels in the English language. One might also argue that it is a distinctly queer text, however, and not necessarily for the same reasons. Please write an essay in which you make a well-argued case for The Well of Loneliness’ status as a queer novel rather than a lesbian one. Keep in mind that one way to do this may be by way of contrast, meaning that you may still need to spend some time discussing Radclyffe Hall’s novel as a lesbian text as well. Your completed essay should be between 5 and 7 double-spaced pages in length. It should include page numbers and be carefully proof-read. Any reference to language or ideas drawn from course readings should be properly cited. This means that you should indicate clearly when you are borrowing someone else’s words by enclosing them in quotation marks. You should also note the source of these words by using a parenthetical citation in this form: “…Quotation” (author’s last name, page number). YThere are two steps to submitting your essay. First, you must submit a digital copy of the essay through our Canvas course site. Second, you must turn in a hard copy of the essay at the beginning of our class meeting on that day. Failure to do either of these things will result in a significant grading penalty.
