In your original post: Using at least 2 sociological concepts and evidence from this week’s lectures (including audio clip) and/or your Barkan, or Gladwell readings (underline concepts and reference evidence), argue for or against the following statement:

“The United States is a land of opportunity where any individual with talent and hard work can achieve upward mobility.”

Include also, the theoretical perspective (functionalism, conflict theory, symbolic interactionism or utilitarianism) you feel you are arguing from and why this theory reflects your point of view.
