A Social Media platform ??

Storytelling is an important element in good, effective public relations. This week, you will focus your attention on the art of the story in public relations and journalism. Public relations differs from Journalism in that PR has a point of view. The best story or storytelling does not require objectivity and can equal a more successful public relations campaign. And, stories can be told in a number of ways and on different media platforms including visual stories – through photographs and videos, or stories in print including magazines and newspapers, as well as social media.

Readings providing examples of different ways to tell a story. You will research and find 2 other stories using any media platform you find. A media platform could be things like local newspapers, teletext, etc. Anything that gives the news a raised base to be seen.

For instance: A Social Media platform could include: Blab, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram, Pinterest, Reddit, Yelp, LinkedIn, Meerkat, Periscope, Plaxo, Xing, Bing, Discussion Boards and Forums, Flickr, MySpace, ITunes, Vimeo, Yahoo, YouTube, HootSuite and Google.

For example, storytelling has become crucial in political campaigns. You might find ways political candidates tell their stories to garner votes. Celebrities frequently wrap their social causes around a story, many of them quite successfully in an effort to reach their target audience. And, large business regularly finds ways to create a narrative that appeals to consumers.

Be sure to locate two different platforms to upload. Do not choose two stories in print or two in film, you could choose one example in print and a completely different story that uses social media to distribute to the target audience.
