you’ll want to discuss the major phases here (from monumental Roman pools, to the Byzantine church, to the Crusader church above) and what evidence has survived for each. There are some ancient texts about it, which will be cited in the articles & book sections discussing the area (such as New Testament accounts of miracles here).
