Secondly, apply the materiality concept to real estate investing. Find an article for a commercial real estate, development, or property management company that is spending money on improvements or something substantial.

Then identify if this is material or not. In some cases the cost could be $5,000 and material and in other cases it could be 50 million and considered peanuts.
