Please briefly review the epidemiological literature supporting the association of cigarette smoking and PD

The association of cigarette smoking and risk of Parkinsonâ s disease risk is well documented. Among the many possible chemical compounds contained in tobacco and tobacco smoke, nicotine is of particular interest for further study. Imagine that you would like to investigate the effects of nicotine on PD symptoms and outcomes. 1) Please briefly review the epidemiological literature supporting the association of cigarette smoking and PD. (min. Â¼ page, max. ½ page). Please cite references appropriately! ***You can do Â¼ page if that’s fine. 2) Provide a rationale for such a study on nicotine and PD. Please support your arguments with a minimum of 5 original citations (not reviews). (min. Â½ page, max. 1 page). *** You can use Â½ page 3) Design potential studies that would address this question using two out of the three approaches below (min. Â½ page for each study). For each chosen approach, please, address study design, choice of study population (inclusion, exclusion), exposures, and outcome measures. a. An epidemiological approach b. An experimental approach (e,g., animal (mouse, fly) or other experimental model system) c. A clinical approach (clinical trial) 4) Discuss strengths and limitations of each of your chosen approaches. (min. Â¼ page, max. Â½ page). Please cite appropriate references as needed. *** You can use Â¼ page if that’s fine. Total: Should be two pages if you write based off the minimum amount that I requested after the three asterisks from each section. If you feel you need to write extra please let me know. Also, regarding the number of sources for this paper, 5 minimum should be for the second section but for the first, third and fourth section can be however many you all needed to use. I’ll put ten for the number of sources but just keep in mind it does not have to be that many. I also provided the documents containing these instructions. Hope it helps and feel free to contact me for any questions
