The Medical Model established in the early 19th century was replaced by the Justice

Model for correctional policies in 1974. Prepare a 2 page research paper in which

you distinguish between the two systems by highlighting the differences. Also,

assess the impact this philosophical change has had on community relations. Argue

whether or not the changes have improved the correctional system and justify your

position with contemporary examples.
