Use the:

forward Euler (theta=1)
backward Euler (theta=0)
trapezoidal (theta=0.5) also known as Crank-Nicolson
to show how well do the three cases compare for the following first order differential exponential decay problem:

y’ + ay=0 with initial condition y(0)=1

and second order harmonic oscillator problem:

y” + y=0 with initial condition y(0)=1, y'(0)=1

Different step sizes should be used for each problem, 3 would be enough, to be plotted on the same graph.
