International Music

“Each style or genre of music contains a number of melodic, rhythmic, harmonic, timbral, instrumental &/or vocal, structural, textural and production elements that makes it ‘this’ style of music and not ‘that’. With reference to the topics we studied, discuss North Indian Classical Music. Where appropriate, refer to form, structure, rhythm, scale systems, systems of learning, timbre, tuning systems and instruments.”

That is the essay topic, I have lecture slides and recommended reading that I will send through once order is processed.

4. Academic writing skills including use of appropriate grammar, spelling, grammar and punctuation.

• Musicological and cultural analysis, research techniques and general historical knowledge pertaining to cultural movements, cultural musics , musical organization, and texts; to gender, sexuality and ethnicity in its relationship to popular music
