TASK DESCRIPTION (as per course guide)
This assessment task is designed to address course learning outcome/s:
• Be able to discuss, describe and present outcomes of research, issues, and projects to a range of stakeholders both internally and externally in a clear and concise format.
• Understand key academic theories in international business
• Be able to analyse different situations in the international business environment and be able to provide critical perspectives of business and society in those contexts
Readings – Animate. Weeks 7-14 inclusive. Duration maximum 5 min. Detailed Marking Rubric is available through Blackboard under Assessments. Equity of Contribution Policy (EOC Policy) applies to this assessment. The Policy is available through Blackboard. Students in team of two (2) will have the opportunity to present prescribed reading text in a clear and concise format. All readings are available on Blackboard. In this assessment you will use your visual business creativity, and design skills for business. You will be allocated a prescribed reading text which you must analyse/describe and present outcomes. You must identify and present the main concept/argument of the text/article/reading. It is expected that you will provide critical perspectives through a visual Animate presentation (e.g.GoAnimate.com). Your presentation should be no longer than 10 minutes. Power Point presentation is not permitted. Reading from notes is not permitted. Your team will be allocated class presentation time. Students are also expected to explore the argument/concept/theory of the text further and are also encouraged to express their views and support their argument with relevant materials in terms of practical examples in their presentation if required. This is an opportunity to further student’s interest and knowledge in the subject as well as allowing students to practice critical thinking. Expected content of your Animate presentation: • A brief introduction to your Text/ topic/author • An overview of any of the following: key theory/issue/concept/idea/application/implication/strategy/tools etc. • Based on your analysis cover any of the following: Critique/discussion/analysis/futuristic idea etc • Article Summary (in your animation), plus no more than one page written summary
(fully referenced) of your reading/article handed to the class before presentation. Your one page summary to be submitted through Balckboard Turnitin. References (all material used must be fully referenced including images if used according to Harvard referencing method) Your presentation must be submitted on CD or USB (please make a copy for your reference) on the day of your presentation. Your submission must be accompanied by RMIT assignment coversheet. Your Assignment cover sheet must be signed and should include: your name and student ID number, course code, your group code and lecturer name. Presentations will be held in your designated tutorial class.
Please observe:
If you do not present because you did not attend the tutorial class this will constitute NO marks for that particular class assessment.
You cannot make up for the presentation at a later date. If you are LATE for your presentation, you will not be allocated more time in class.
Special Consideration Where matters beyond your control interfere with the completion of assessment tasks you may seek special consideration. Such consideration is usually reserved for serious instances of ill health to students and their dependants. This is done by submitting a Special Consideration form with documentary evidence at the Student Hub no later than 48 hours after the due date or scheduled assessment. Student will be notified via their student e-mail account of the outcome of the application, which if approved can include alternative assessment or an extension of time.
