Intelligence Agency Roles and Relationships

The U.S. Intelligence Community (IC) is a coalition of 17 governmental agencies and organizations. The CIA, NSA, DHS, DOD, and the military COCOMS (combatant commands) are among these agencies, working both independently and collaboratively to gather the intelligence necessary to conduct foreign relations and national security activities. For this assignment, research two of the IC member agencies (CIA and DOD) and write a paper comparing and contrasting the agencies. In your discussion:
1. Define and differentiate the roles and responsibilities of both agencies in national and homeland security.
2. Explain the duplicity and gaps in the agencies’ homeland security responsibilities.
3. Assess the implications of these responsibilities and practices for national and homeland security.
