How the Telephone Has Affected the Nature of Communication over Time

OVERALL PLAN:   The research portion of your course MUST include ALL of the following in sequence:

  1. Submission and approval of your research project proposal  (this should already be completed)
  2. Submission of a detailed outline of your paper…this will be explained below
  3. Receipt of my comments and suggestions on your outline and sources
  4. A telephone discussion of the project, which will be scheduled when I comment on the outline.
  5. Submission of the final project

NOTE…ALL OF THESE MUST BE ACCOMPLISHED….I WILL NOT GRADE THE FINAL PAPER UNTIL ALL OF THE STEPS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED.

YOUR RESEARCH PAPER OUTLINE SHOULD INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING 4 parts:

 

TITLE:     THIS SOULD BE SIMILAR TO WHAT WAS SUBMITTED IN THE PROPOSAL…(if you decide to change it, you must submit a new proposal for my approval)

 

FIRST PARAGRAPH:   The first paragraph is very important…it gets you started…it should define and limit your topic.   It should include any question you will be trying to answer in the paper….A DRAFT FIRST PARAGRAPH MUST BE INCLUDED IN YOUR OUTLINE.

OUTLINE:   What the remainder of your paper will discuss, step by step, as you see it now, including how it will end

SOURCES:    The sources you use are a significant part of how the paper will be graded.  Your final paper must include a minimum of FOUR SOURCES.  (You shall not include our text as one of the sources)  The sources should be verified by you.  Never use Wikipedia or similar sites.   AT LEAST ONE SOURCE MUST BE A SCHOLARLY BOOK ABOUT YOUR SUBJECT.   You may need to visit a library to find this.  If you need help, e-mail me.  This does not mean that you must read the entire book, but only those portions of the book that deal with your topic.  The sources you have to date must be included at the end of your outline.

The invention of the telephone in 1876 by Alexander Graham has had a huge impact on the lives and culture of people in the society. The intentions of the inventor were to make communication over long distances easier. However, people and technology have revolutionized the invention, and it has changed the world in entirely. The changes span from physical and mental to socially, economically, and educationally..

Prior to the invention of telephone, people would use mail or messengers to deliver desirable messages to critical decisions. However, this put a limit on the nature and amount of information from one point to the other. People would only communicate the most critical messages, as the means available were costly. The trend changed after the invention of telephone. In the current dispensation, the telephone industry employs numerous people. The employment results to a culture change the lives of individuals both socially and economically.

The affordability of the telephone in the prevailing regime makes it feasible for people to intensify the use of the gadget. It has become a part of life in every individual. Phones offer a great sense of security and this makes people attached to the gadgets. Moreover, the rationale that they can receive real-time information and alerts makes telephones a favorite. Currently, telephones offer and support numerous social media platforms and the internet. The internet is a powerful tool in communication and technology supports the internet. The technological advancement in the phone industry is continuous and advancements bring a new perspective of the gadget. The research project will expound on the impacts of telephone in the United States and the world in the recent past and examine its impact on communication between long and short distances
