Choose one geographical region relevant to English Colonial expansion and survey the placenames of the region.  Use this information as a springboard to describe the historical context of your chosen period, and how the English language may have been affected and changed during your chosen period.  Choose EITHER to discuss British Colonial expansion in Africa during the late 19th/early 20th Centuries OR  “New World” (American Continent) expansion during the 17th century.
