Descriptive Research Question

What are the most appropriate techniques for driving social change?

This question is illustrative because it hints at the necessity of describing what motivates people to embrace changes in society, i.e. study what actually exists (Trochim, 2006).

Correlational Research Question

What is the relation between gender and acceptable leadership style in the Middle East region?

It is an appropriate example of causal questions because the significance of establishing relations between two naturally occurring phenomena (differences in gender and leadership styles) is underpinned (O’Donnell, Reeve, & Smith, 2011).

Causal Research Question

Given the severity of the Hurricane Matthew, what is its potential influence on economy and welfare of the affected territories?

This question is a causal one, as its primary objective is to identify cause-and-effect relations between two variables – Hurricane Matthew and the condition of economy (Johnson & Christensen, 2014).
