For this week’s post, choose a character from the novel Soledad (NOT Soledad or

Olivia) and do a character study.  This involves considering how Cruz is “bringing

them to life” through characterization.  What do they look like? How do they feel

about themselves and their place in the world? What is their belief system? How do

they feel about other members of the family? What is their attitude toward sex and

gender? What are their fears, dreams, and values? How might this character inspire

us to empathize or better understand someone vastly differen be sure to respond in

5-10 sentences AND be sure to include specific quotes/paraphrased statements from

the novel
