IMPORTANT UNIVERSITY ASSESSMENT RULES FOR YOU TO NOTE

If you do not submit your assignment by the submission date without an approved extension of time or deferral request you will fail this module, and you will not be

allowed a resit attempt. Your extension or deferral request must have been approved prior to the deadline for submission. From September 2010 any coursework or other

assessment submitted late will be given a mark of zero.

The re-sit module mark will be capped at 40%.

•    Your name or student ID number are NOT REQUIRED anywhere on your submission
•    The cover page of the submission must clearly state how many words you have used
•    Your work must be in the correct page order and contain all the required information
•    Your work must be submitted ONLY via TurnItIn within the CUOnline Module Page
•    Submit your assignment on time and save your digital receipt.
•    Please ensure that you retain a duplicate copy of all work you submit for assessment.

You can access the Turnitin link through the module web and further details will be provided in class.

Your coursework will be given a zero mark if you do not submit a copy through Turnitin.

GUIDELINES AND BACKGROUND TO THIS ASSIGNMENT

The Task – Feasibility Study

In 1,750 words undertake a feasibility study to explore the potential viability of a business idea or social enterprise and present your findings. You are only allowed

to go above or below this word count by 10% otherwise marks may be deducted.

Marks will be awarded as follows:

•    Introduction to the business idea (10%)
•    Establishing the feasibility of your idea (10%)
•    Market research and competitor analysis – is there a demand for your product/service? (20%)
•    Financing an enterprise – how much do you need and where will finance come from? (10%)
•    Operational issues – getting your product/service to market (15%)
•    Summary on the idea, your own capabilities, and future business/personal development (15%)
•    Use of resources and research (10%)
•    Structure, style, language and presentation of work (10%)
