Family Studies (five part assessment)
The Family in 2100 Assignment
The Family in 2100
Review and critique what you have learned about family, family structures in their socio-historical context, along with the various theories of family to which you have been exposed to in this course.
Using the proper terminology, theories, and your knowledge about family structures, construct a carefully worded presentation that outlines the type of family structure (if any) that might exist by 2100. Be sure to include the following:
• An explanation of who and/or what performs the functions of the family that is presented and justify why they are performed in that way;
• Reference to the likelihood that newly created or expanded gender roles will impact family structures and family relationships (economic, social, political, and biological) and the ways in which this will be evident;
• Integrate material such as charts, pictures, graphs, diagrams, etc. to assist in the presentation of your explanations;
• Present your information in a creative format (television documentary, Internet news broadcast, Prezi, or interview).
Your presentation should be a minimum of 10 minutes in length.
