Part1: PSED OBSERVATIONS 4observations on a 3 year old child settling in at nursery. There should be 4 evaluations for each of the observations. Altogether 2,500 words. The observations must be regarding the same child. The observations must be about the child settling in and what steps did they take to improve their settling what happened how were they comforted. Each observation must carry out next steps to help the child settle in and how they reacted. Also a 250 word background of the child which must include what they like at home siblings personal information. How is the child developing in each area of development. So how is the child developing personally, socially and emotionally. There must be a evaluation for each observation. It must include the impact of the child’s personal, social and emotional development. Also cultural and social factors must be considered. Part 2: PSED SLIDES This part must be done in slides in a presentation format and should include images. The 4 observations and evaluations must be mentioned and expanded on throughout the essay. Each evaluation should be mentioned and expanded on. It also must include socio cultural and family influences that impact on a childs cultural identity,self esteem and emotional wellbeing. The evaluations must reflect on the importance of personal, social and emotional development. Analysing concepts of good quality practice and provision for children from birth to three in relation to developing and resourcing a beoad and holistic curriculum that meets the needs if children from diverse and cultural backgrounds. It should also review current and historical social prospectives on children’s well being and provision for 0-3 years olds and offer a overview of differing international and cultural prospectives, must be included. Also to justify the crucial importance of this area of development and its impact on long term learning. Discuss and evaluate the impact of their role on the learning experiences of babies and young children and how their approach relates to their own values and experiences. Describe analyse theories of the personal social cultural and emotional development of babies and young children drawn from developmental psychologists. The EYFS 2014 psed must be included. Personal theorists must be included aswell as social development theorists and emotional development theorists. How does cultural social factors effect and influence a childs personal social emotional development. Vygotskys cultural theory can be mentioned. Understand what children go through when development. Why is psed important on a childs development and how would that effect them in the short/long term learning of children. If they were not achieve psed at there correct level what delays would happen that would affect them short/ long term. How does the key person help with a child’s self esteem and confidence. Include vygotsky and Piaget for social theorists. If there is a PSED delay it can lead to a child being frustrated. There must be a literature review on PSED theorists, include the EYFS PSED and what the child should be doing at the age of 3. Include how did PSED fall into place for the child. Include what is the next step for the child’s PSED. And include the improvements in the next observation. Include John Bowlvy’s attachment theory about separation and loss. Include emotional intelligence when observing the child.a child that can now express themselves emotionally are more likely to have a developmental delay. Make links to neuroscience and how the brain works with the child. Include in the observations is the child able to manage their own feelings. This should be 2,500 words
