Consider the following given scenario and utilising information from your course notes and from independent research devise a simple “Permit to work system”. Describe how your system would operate and the type of information that you would expect to include on the “Permit to work form” that you will draft.

Scenario: Electric arc welding of a metal support bracket to a metal office dividing wall.

For the above show consideration of the following:

Intensity of the arc and how this may affect personnel in the vicinity.
Shielding or scheduling the task outside normal hours.
Checking and possible removal of combustibles from the vicinity, fire prevention.
Additional personnel and equipment that might be needed.
Selection of adequate PPE
