Describe natural history of disease in biological terms, including pre-pathogenesis and pathogenesis phases

Objective: 1) Describe natural history of disease in biological terms, including pre-pathogenesis and pathogenesis phases (see pg 98-99 Friis).
2) Use knowledge of the progression of disease, to incorporate concepts of sensitivity and specificity in clinical testing (this is similar to sensitivity and specificity of screening tests but the tests and reasons for testing are different)
This paper has two parts. Part A – a description of the disease, and Part B – a description of the diagnostic test. Although there are specific questions that you must answer, write this as a paper and not as a Q&A. Remember to use citations for any idea that is NOT yours, and to add a reference list at the end.
Also, use headings for your paragraphs to aid your writing. Look at the rubric (next page) that will be used to grade your paper and make sure all of the elements are in your paper.
