Deceptive female protagonists in Literature (or the Performing Arts)

1deceptive female of the evil type – (Cathy Ames) and then talk about a protagonist that is more self-deceived — such as Jane Austin’s “Emma”.

Or – to do 2 of the evil types and 2 of the self-deceived. – The evils could be Cathy Ames for sure, and then the 2nd one could be Mrs. Danvers in “Rebecca” by Daphne du Maurier OR Becky Sharp from Vanity Fair. The self deceived could be Emma as well as Holly Golightly in Truman Capote’s “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.”
