Introduction
Federal regulations prescribe not only the positions required for operation of a Part 121 or 135 aircraft, but they also detail the training that must be completed for pilots, co-pilots, dispatchers and others to become certificated. If you are pursuing a career that takes you down one of these routes, you will need to be well-acquainted with the training requirements. In this assignment you will demonstrate your understanding of the required trainings and their progressions.

Summarize the history of Part 121 flight crew requirements. Explain what caused the progression from one pilot to three or more pilots being required for operations. Also explain why the minimum number of required flight crew has since decreased. (15 Points)
Outline the training required for a Part 121 pilot. Identify the name of each required training period. Then summarize the events that take place during each training period. Be sure to include all training periods from Indoc to being able to perform as a regular crew member. (50 Points)
Briefly explain how proficiency checks are performed for captains and first officers. (15 Points)
How does Part 121 required training for dispatchers differ from that of pilots? (10 Points)
What are the minimum programmed training hours required for dispatcher initial training? (10 Points)
