Theme 5 considers the management issues of common cardiac disorders. In this assessment you are asked consider the condition of Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM) in children, and how all aspects of life will be affected for the child and family, by this illness.

You are required to develop and submit a multi-layered mind/concept map – refer to Appendix 1 of your Subject Information and Assessment booklet for directions..

Note the following:

  • If not using a computer to generate your mind map ensure your printing is legible.
  • In this instance it is more appropriate to attach a bibliography of readings rather than a reference list.
  • If you are unsure of how to progress with your mind/concept map refer to Appendix 1 of your Subject Information and Assessment booklet

There are websites that provide access to software programs specifically designed for developing Mind/Concept maps – some of these sites allow you to develop a map for free to trial the programs they have. These sites allow you to develop great maps and help you to add graphics and colour to your map. They also provide examples that will help you visualise your map. Use your search engine to find these sites using mind map or concept map as your search term.

There is no marking rubric for the concept map, your overall grade will be documented on the short essay rubric
