1. In your own words, summarise what you now understand to be the difference between an opinion and an academic argument.

2. Write a conclusion to an essay on The Advantages and Disadvantages of the National Minimum Wage (NMW). Make sure you present an argument either in favour or against the NMW. Include any citations, but you do not need a reference list.

3. Think about the conclusion that you have written. How easy would it be to write the ‘opposite’ conclusion? How important is evidence in the creation of academic argument?
