• What you consider that you have learned about your coaching from this project;

Action Research Project
Topic: Communication: Sports Coaches’ Communicating to Athletes
Word length: 2,500 words
The following format is expected for the action research project:
Introduction:
This will at least include the following:
• Thorough and relevant context analysis.
Action research cycle(s)
This will at least include the following:
• Thorough description of how the evidence was collected for each cycle;
• The reflections on that data;
• A critical account of the research that is relevant to the issue/problem that is the focus of the cycle (especially in the Plan and Reflect part of the cycle);
• The strategies for change that resulted from the reflection and the new (revised) plan of action for the next cycle including details of any new (or additional) data that was collected.
Summary
This will at least include the following:
• What you consider that you have learned about your coaching from this project;
• What have been the things that might have limited or prevented you from achieving the change you desired?
Note: By “This will at least include the following” we are saying that you are at liberty to include other relevant things but that this is the minimal expectation.
Also, it is expected that you will:
• make regular connections with relevant empirical literature;
• use headings and sub-headings where appropriate;
• communicate with competent expression and spelling;
• use conventional and consistent formatting (e.g. minimum of 1.5 spacing, 10- 12pt font, normal margins) and referencing (e.g. APA 6th);
• use graphical or other representations where applicable to aid communication.
Feedback from Research Proposal (Attached as Research Proposal)
My primary concern is the lack of personalisation in the project; i.e., it is about others and not you as a coach
Contextual analysis:
• All useful information; however, some additional information about your setting would have been useful
Issue:
• What you write is relevant but more relevant was why it is an issue for you. Hence, provide data that shows this is an issue for you in your setting.
Method:
• I like your topic question; however, some literature about motivation in the lit review would seem relevant.
• The inclusion of feedback from a critical friend is great but also consider self-assessment as well as players’ feedback… then, triangulate those three data sets.
• Consider how you will make sense of the collected data.
References:
FYI… Italicise the volume number AND for text references include city/country for publishing house (e.g., Sage references for Silverman and Smith books; e.g., London: Sage)
• in text citations do not use ampersand (&).
